Protention is a personal AI agent you reach the way you reach a person: over iMessage, SMS and phone calls. There is no app to download. You set the agent up on the web, give it a name, a personality, an email name and its permissions, then save its number and start a conversation. Work, learning, planning and creative projects belong to the same life, so the agent has room for all of them. The name comes from Husserl’s word for our anticipation of the next moment.

How it works.
- 01Start with conversationSMS, iMessage and phone calls are the whole interface, so asking for help is as natural as sending a message or talking something through.
- 02Set up on the web in seven stepsName your agent, choose SMS or iMessage, enter your number, give it a personality and an email name, set its permissions, then copy its number.
- 03Keep the person in chargeYour own phone number identifies you as the agent’s permanent owner, and you review the permissions you grant before continuing.
- 04One agent for the whole dayA question becomes a project, a plan changes, and the next decision depends on what came before. The agent is built around that continuity.
